Cavity Wall Insulation
Cavity wall insulation is regarded as one of the most effective ways to save on energy costs as over a third of all the heat lost in an uninsulated home escapes through the walls. Cavity wall insulation lowers your energy costs and helps reduce harmful emissions being released into the environment.
Ecosave are an accredited, approved ECO installer and are experts in cavity wall installation. We use only the top graded materials for our Cavity Wall installations:
How Do I Know If I Have Cavity Walls?
If your house was built after the 1920s, it is likely to have cavity walls. A cavity wall is made up of two walls with a gap in between, known as the cavity; the outer leaf is usually made of brick and the inner layer of brick or concrete block.
Homes built from the mid-1990s onwards are likely to have had cavity wall insulation completed at the build stage, however, if the guarantee has expired (which we can check) we can extract the old less efficient material and refill with the latest EPS Silver Bead.
Ecosave Installations Ltd provide a full, end to end in-house service that covers initial enquiry, home assessment, installation, and aftercare.
EPS Bead (Expanded Polystyrene)
EPS Bead (Expanded Polystyrene) is accepted as the most technologically advanced cavity wall insulation product in the market. It is installed in a very similar way to traditional fibre/wool insulation by using a drilling pattern and each hole is injected with the bead under compressed air. The bead (upon injection) is coated with a bonding agent so the beads stick together inside the cavity.
The beads typically fill the cavity wall very well and do not cause issues reminiscent of other cavity wall insulation materials. The cavity walls must be clear of debris and rubble prior to installation and the building fabric must be in good condition.
– We exclusively use EPS Silver Bead which is the very latest technology in cavity wall insulation.
– This new product is so superior to previous methods used that we regularly extract the inefficient outdated products of the past and refill using EPS Silver Bead
– Accreditation – EPS Silver Bead has been independently assessed for thermal performance, design and installation of the System according to BS EN ISO 69462, BR4433, BS 52505, BS 81026, BS 82157, BS EN 1996-1-18, UK NA to BS EN 1996-1-19
We have been at the forefront of this extremely effective measure since 2015 and have completed thousands of installations across Scotland.
